WeeklyShow ("the app", "we", "us") is an entertainment app that helps you discover TV shows and movies. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we never do with it.
1. What WeeklyShow does
WeeklyShow gives you a small set of hand-picked shows and movies every day, based on your preferences (available time, streaming platforms, genre and tone). Content comes from our catalog of public show metadata.
2. Data you provide
- Friend's email (optional). If you choose to share the app, you may enter a friend's email address to unlock more picks. This is entirely optional. We store the address in Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) public database and never send emails to it. It is used only to help us understand how people discover the app.
3. Data we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, account, or location.
- We do not track your behaviour, browsing, or usage across apps.
- We do not use analytics SDKs, crash reporters, advertising networks, or third-party trackers.
- We do not use the App Tracking Transparency identifier (IDFA).
4. Services the app connects to
To show recommendations, the app fetches public TV/movie metadata from TheTVDB and TVmaze. These requests do not include any personal data. Show posters and metadata are served to improve your experience.
5. Where data is stored
- Friend email addresses are stored in Apple CloudKit (public database), accessible only to the developer through the CloudKit dashboard.
- App preferences and settings (time, tone, streaming picks, sharing state) are stored only on your device using
UserDefaultsandSwiftData. They never leave your device.
6. Data retention and deletion
Email addresses are kept until the developer manually deletes them from the CloudKit dashboard. You can stop providing data at any time by simply not entering an email when sharing. To request deletion of any stored data, contact us at the address below and we will remove it.
7. Children's privacy
WeeklyShow is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
